Getting ready to leave the office, and then head home to grab my trailer to help some dear friends move some VW bus restoration projects from a pecan orchard to one of their houses.

Excellent, I re-installed Total War: Shogun 2 and it’s been consuming all of my free time as of late.

I drove 2 hours through the country and got paid for it. So that was nice... Sitting in the office now isn’t though

Fried. Blasted. Burned out. My brain is a rocky hellscape littered with broken crippled shards of living meteor.
Finished up like 3-4 projects yesterday while juggling 4-5 other things until 10PM, continued to play Project Whack-A-Mole today, and half an hour till five was told that a thing I had completed and had completely in the bag, we might want to do in a totally different way. A thing that was not mentioned when I sent out the conceptual pieces and finished pieces on a month ago. Oh, and we want to have it built in a week. Fucking. Huzzah.
Here at desk doodling ways of making it work and make sense while seeing if I can reduce parts count because why not.

Pretty good. I under spent this last pay period so I’ve about £200- 300 excess I can spend on next months car cleaning supplies.
I’m having a Chinese takeaway (I won’t post a picture of the food, promise), and a great bottle of w ine, a 2016 Sancerre. About two or three times what I wanted to spend on a bottle but hey, good wine right.

Tired. Haven’t had more than a long weekend off since Christmas, and I’m feeling quite overdue. Day 4 of my truck has no electricity despite a fully charged battery and I can’t figure out why.
I think it’ll be a beer/movies evening.

I’m always tempted to go back and play Empire: Total War, but either it’s too easy, or if I turn up the difficulty, India always consolidates under a single Indian nation and then comes to attack me in Europe/North America. Darthmod doesn’t seem to help.

Still around and kicking, even if I just most lurk on Oppo now.
Today has been tons of fun dealing with pains and nausea, but not much to complain about.
Had to cancel our D&D session tonight though since I don’t have the energy to DM for a few hours, luckily my group is super understanding.
Stressing over next month’s budget since all my savings ran up this month and my family’s tapped out on helping us.
I am (supposedly) getting two new books from Amazon so that’ll at least keep me busy the next few days.

Step 1 remove bumper (HAHAHAHAHA)
Step 2 unbolt and remove lights about 2 inches
Step 3 squeeze fingers back to undo wiring
Step 4 Transfer over the easy lights to the new housing
Step 5 Transfer the auto-level motor to the new housing
Step 6 Adjust the light reflectors all the way forward so you can remove the HID ballast wiring and transfer that over to the new housing
Step 7 Swap over HID bulb and high beam bulb
Step 8 Installation is the reverse of removal

Aaaaahhh!! That’s a no to plug and play.
Many cars P&P is possible, but then others are the opposite and require at least two people and a lot of time.
How can some car companies do it while others can’t?

The insurance company is mailing out the Gap coverage check today. I should have my loan paid off within the next two weeks and be able to pay off a personal loan, and have plenty for a down payment on a vehicle, AND have some leftover for whatever I want. So, pretty good.
Also, I get to go to a Rockies game next week because my company is awesome.

Diagnosed with Crohn’s about a month ago. Treatment options seem to range from mild to no meds with drastic dietary changes, or no diet changes but massive amounts of meds, including monthly infusions. I don’t want the latter, but the former is hard, and sucks. Complicating this is my daughter was simultaneously diagnosed with Celiac. So dietary changes are mandatory anyway. And worrying about a 4 year old who has to be gluten free, so sorry, I know your friend surprised class with cupcakes but you’re right, you couldn’t have them. But realizing I give more of a shit about that than she does, she’s just happy she’s not in pain everyday like she was.
But fuck, things are getting better. But not fast enough.
But thanks for the prompt to vom it this out into the ether of an internet off topic car blog. Really.
So, how you doing? New house stress?

Wow, that’s awful. Hang in there...
I got stuff going... House not really cracking my top five sources of stress but that’s alright. It’ll be in the top-tier back where it belongs soon enough.

Eh, could be better. Trying to figure out if I need to remove a transmission bracket in order to get the oil pan off the Civic. Anything I can find online is either for older/newer Civics, or for ones with a manual transmission.

The far-far-right candidate in my country (think Trump+Putin+Duterte) got stabbed today while campaigning ( in my state nonetheless) and unfortunately survived, so now he is even more likely to win the election.
But a friend asked me out today, so I will try to enjoy while my sexual orientation is still legal in this country
Today was a 6 I guess

I’m glad to hear that you’re still hanging around here!
What books are you going to be reading? Anything interesting?
I played D&D every Saturday for about a year and a half, and it was just miserable for me. In hindsight, that was mostly because of the people that I was playing with. I might try again someday.

Sorry for the late reply, I normally browse on my phone and my burner is only on my laptop!
The books I got are Star Wars Thrawn: Allegiances. Somehow Zahn managed to top his first NuCannon Thrawn book and I enjoyed every second of not putting down Allegiances. Then again, I’ve always loved Zahn’s writing and he never disappoints with his stories.
Second book I got was the updated copy of H-Point, which is a car design book. I was interested to see what had been updated since the first version, especially in regards to electric cars. I haven’t got all the way through it yet, but it seems like a very nice update with a lot of new additions. A little part of me still wants to design cars someday, even if that dream seems to have sailed off.
D&D is really tough because of the group play setup, all it takes is one bad player or DM and the whole thing is an awful experience. It’s even worse if you’re a first time player and no one takes the time to explain it (in a non patronizing way). The tough part is just walking away when the group isn’t working and finding a new one.
Luckily my group is all old college friends. We’ve been playing Storm King’s Thunder since Sept of ‘16, and we’ve consistently
meet at least 3 out of every 4 weeks. We’re pretty much in the final bits and about to head off the big bad at the end, so I’m excited (and a bit sad) to see our 2 year adventure come to an end.

No worries about the late reply. Any day that we hear from you around here is a good day.
I have always been a big star wars fan but I never really dove into the novels of the expanded universe. Maybe I should.
H-point sounds pretty neat. I know that I’m definitely not the creative type when it comes to design. I actually spent my first semester of college enrolled in an architecture program before realizing that was a terrible idea. Now I’m an analytical chemist. Much more up my alley.
That’s awesome that you’ve got such a great group of friends to game with. And I definitely understand the mixed emotions that come when you conclude something that’s been a lot of fun. But hopefully it means that you’ll be on to the next adventure soon.
